AMSA Promoting Health

Becoming a part of AMSA has many perks, and one to consider involves promoting health on campus and in the community.

Over the summer, AMSA participated in the Late Night Rec Sports event held on Tuesday, Sept 18, 2012. The event  lasted  from 8:00-2:00am and was held by Recreational Sports in the CW Garden on campus. The night was filled with laser tag, rock climbing, sports tournaments, free massages, music and food!

AMSA, among other organizations on campus, was present to enjoy the festivities!

And as fall quarter has once again rolled around, AMSA took part in the San Bernardino Striders Kickoff event held Saturday Oct 20th held by the Healthy San Bernardino Coalition. The San Bernardinon Striders program focuses on promoting healthy living in the community. At the event, clubs in the community were set up in order to promote both nutritional and mental health, and joined in on a walk to promote the important of health. Along with the walk, the event included free zumba lessons and a smoothie party. Mayor Pat Morris of San Bernardino was also present to speak about the important of walking clubs in the community and kick-off the walk!

AMSA officers volunteered at the event, as well as enjoyed some of the fun!
