Summer 2012- Las Vegas Bodies Exhibition Trip

On September 12, AMSA and Bio Club joined PAAC (Pre-Health Association of Allied Coyotes) on an overnight stay in Las, Vegas Nevada. On the first day, they took a tour of the anatomy lab at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, then joined APHP (Allied Pre-Health Professions), a pre-health club at UNLV, for dinner.

Afterward, a night on the town!

The next day, they visited the Bodies Exhibition located in Luxor, Hotel and Casino, getting an opportunity to learn more about the human anatomy and not to mention- gaze upon a pair of smoker's lungs!

Summer 2012- Ronald McDonald House Dinner

What did AMSA do this summer, you're probably wondering...

Well, we were busy at the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda preparing a dinner for approximately 40 people. Who stays at the RMH? Families with sick children at Loma Linda University stay at the house, and AMSA's goal is to spend an evening cooking for them. 

On Wednesday, June 20th from 4:30-8:30pm, AMSA officers and members cooked a Mexican-themed dinner of carne asada tacos and chicken quesadillas with salsa, Mexican rice, and chips.

First AMSA Officer's Meeting 2012-2013

June 18, newly elected AMSA officers are busy from the very beginning; they sat at the longest table at Panera Bread to pour over their first set of official meeting notes, discuss important topics for the new school year, but, of course, not without Panera Bread smoothies and soup. These promising group of students sat for over two hours discussing the various opportunities they could offer pre-medical students for the 2012-2013 school year.
